The doctor, lawyer, and insurance administrator are all in a car accident and, moments later, find themselves standing before St. Peter at the pearly gates.
St. Peter looks them over and says, “To enter heaven, you each need to tell me what you’ve done in life to deserve it.”
The doctor steps forward confidently. “I spent my life helping the sick, healing people, and saving lives,” he says.
St. Peter nods approvingly. “A noble calling. You may enter and stay for all eternity.”
The lawyer steps up next. “I fought for justice, defended the innocent, and gave a voice to the voiceless.”
St. Peter considers this, then says, “You did good work. You may also enter and stay for eternity.”
Finally, the insurance administrator steps up, looking a bit nervous.
St. Peter raises an eyebrow. “And what did you do in life?”
The insurance administrator clears his throat. “I…uh…helped people…navigate policies…reduced cost for hospitals”
St. Peter chuckles, “Well, in that case, you can come in too—but only for three days.”
