Question to providers about younger clients

lonelyldr's Avatar
Hello providers in NWA!

I am new to the "hobby" and the forum in general but I figured I'd start posting (gotta start somewhere~). I hope everyone's having a wonderful Sunday and a good labor day weekend!

I just had a question with regards to younger clients in the area. I noticed that a couple of providers (not everyone) have set an age limit to only see gentlemen of older than a certain age (usually 30+ or 35+ or in some cases 40+). Is there a reason why? Also during screening, does age play a role in seeing or responding to a client? I thank you for taking the time to read this thread, and thanks in advance for replies.

I think if you show yourself to be responsible and build yourself a good reputation with a series of good references, that won't be a hindrance for long.

How'd I do, ladies??

I'm well into the "older set" and that wasn't any indication that I knew what I wanted. More experience will get you that. But being courteous and respectful will always go a long way.

Just act the part and "fake it til you make it" and you will go far. Don't screw it up and be a McLovin!

I find that very young hobbyists lack the reliability and maturity that the older gentleman have... Not always, but usually. Also, most younger guys don’t make enough to afford my rates. They will schedule, but then get cold feet about the cost right before the date. They are the most likely to cancel last minute or no call no show. That’s why I charge a deposit for anyone under 30, unless they have several good, recent references.

Thank you everyone for your responses and insights. I appreciate your responses as well even if you guys aren't providers. Thanks!

But yeah I do belong to the younger set. I'm between 25-30. I don't necessarily feel like I need to have to hide my age so I don't mind it. But what I do mind is that during screening, I sometimes wouldn't even get to the scheduling part and everything kind of falls off once my birth year on my ID or my photo/age gets revealed since I'm younger and I essentially get ghosted. I've almost always complied to most screening processes if not all when needed and have used proper English and proper grammar when crafting text messages to reach out asking for a meeting.
Like instead of "hey wyd, can we meet tn", I would actually introduce myself in the message and state where I found the ad, and then finally inquire about the donation in roses etc. Abit difficult to do a no-show/lastminute cancel when I usually don't even reach there haha. Not complaining, just wanted to understand why this was a common occurance and wanted some insights.

Obviously this didn't apply to every provider in the area that I've messaged or anything, it's just for the most part from my recent experience. I've had some good experiences as well and sometimes it's just a matter of scheduling issue or free time differences unfortunately.

Well you shouldn't have to hide your age. I have seen several younger than you and I don't discriminate. And I will say that a few of them butcher the use of the English Language.

Ladies, give this young man a break. If you add a year to his age for every year younger you claim to be, there won't be an issue.

Unfortunately, when the vast majority of men under a certain age have shown that type of behavior… It’s necessary to charge a deposit to ensure that your time isn’t wasted.

OP, it’s really just a question of getting established & building a good reputation.

Hey OP,

Seems like you’re doing everything right and everyone here has provided great advice.

I’m in my 30’s and started when I was 20. I just kept my cool, was professional, and did my absolute best to follow through with my appointments. Never ever do a NCNS (no call no show). That shit will hurt your reputation and will haunt you forever in this industry. If you’re going to cancel, make sure to do it ahead of time. You will most likely do this at least once because things pop up in your life and it’s totally out of your control.

Don’t be a creep.

That’s all I have for now and I wish you much success

Everyone fudges the number downward. Even the gas stations. You really think you're paying $1.59. No you are paying $1.59 9/10 which is more or less $1.60.

By the way, Lonely...never, ever give out your ID. 90% of these ladies are really cool, and folks you might like to have a relationship outside of the hobby. But 10% are (or will become) bat shit crazy. I've been within watching distance when some of the absolutely most stable, good natured ladies for whom I've had the highest regard...have gone on zingers into outer space over the years. There's a reason for having a handle (even when you don't really have any good reason for needing anonymity - just on principle). It's just the wisdom of the trade, generally practiced by both sides, since long before any of us showed up. I've learned that things usually are the way they are...for a reason. Happy hobbying, young man! Free advice, and worth every penny!

We're here for ya...

I'm still learning and hope I'll fit in
