Exchanging Rent for Sex

Here is an ABC news article about a landlord exchanging services for reduced rent. I have wondered if this was a common occurrence and bet it's more prevelant than anyone will ever admit.

Sure it is, as is bartering for vehicle repairs, dental work, and plenty of other things.

I have never had sex with a tenant.

With my first apartment complex, one of my tenants was a woman who I had dated in high school [and had sex with] but when she was my tenant, she was married and they had children. I never mentioned our previous relationship, I did not want to make things awkward for her or for my wife.

In May I signed a lease on a commercial space. One of the prospective tenants is a girl who is a licensed massage therapist, I was really hoping to have her as a tenant, and I contacted her a few times trying to sweeten the pot to encourage her to sign the lease. I could really use a good massage therapist. The tenants that finally signed that lease are a pair of tattoo artists, and I do not need any more ink.

At one time, I had some apartments in Connecticut. I turned them over to a property manager when I had to go overseas. Three years later when I got back stateside, I found that the property manager had been renting one unit to a pair of girls, who were not paying rent, they were providing services to him.

Since I have mentioned here on this forum that I have apartments, two providers have messaged me asking if I had a vacancy for them to move into. If I were to rent to a provider, I think that I would likely try to become a customer. But purely cash donations. I think that reducing rent or anything like that would provide a paper trail with my accountant, that police could use against me.
NEVER DO THAT!! Take the money!!! then you can do as you please with it!

RetiredSubmariner,

It's a shame I don't live in your apartments! Lmao, I wouldn't ask for a discounted rent price, but rather I'd see you and ask that you put that money towards my rent. Oh, I'd be more than happy to do that than receive cash payment from the landlord! At my rate, and what my current rent is, I'd say that would be about 5 to 6 appointments a month! Lol

I read your profile a few days ago. Rent would only cover two appointments a month.

I have a studio loft apartment, 2000 sq ft with hardwood floor that looks like a dance floor, and a huge bay window that overlooks the city riverside park. It is getting $700/month right now rented to a church pastor [she is a long-term tenant].

I have ten units that are all done being remodeled, but the state fire marshal wants the fire sprinkler system to be redesigned. These units will not be legal until around October. They are single-occupancy units, real small around 240 sq ft, with a small dorm refrigerator, a microwave and hotplate. I will be asking $350/month [if the tenant covers utilities] or $450/month if I carry utilities.

A laundry room is included in the building for free. Close to a state university campus, metro bus stop immediately in front of the building, across the street from a restaurant.

Retired Submariner,

I would need a first floor apartment with three rooms, I have three small kids, and while sure, maybe I could hide one of the three to smuggle my way into getting a two bedroom, at some point I'd need to pony up the money and get a bigger place with more room.

In Texas I had a one bedroom for eight years, three kids born in that time, and the apartment was up stairs, talk about a fucking nightmare! One of my bottom stairs neighbors would beating off in the inside hallway that lead up to my apartment every now and again, real classy shit.

In Florida, I have a pretty decent place right now, it's a two bedroom on the first floor with 1,035 for rent and then with a 200 electricity bill, I'm looking at 1,235 a month for just that which isn't terrible. I have a little backyard area, and while it isn't much I'm going to try and set up a little garden back there. And in my opinion, this area is a lot safer than the one I was trying to raise my kids in, in Texas.

Thank you for reading my profile, any suggestions?

Also, you sound like a wonderful landlord, if I wasn't a little Momma with three kids, and lived up North, I would have taken up that offer in a heartbeat!

I get it. You need a specific kind of apartment. I simply do not have that to offer.

The building that I have been remodeling is mixed-use commercial and residential. My tenants are: a church that focuses on street ministry that offers meals to the hungry, a tattoo artist, a print shop, the studio-loft apartment I told you about before, and ten really tiny single-occupancy units I am hoping to fill with college students once the fire marshal approves them.

I wish I had something that was suitable for your family, but I don't. I am sorry.

... Thank you for reading my profile, any suggestions?
I love your headshots. I think you should get some professional 'glamor' shots done. Photos are better when done by a professional.

You sound like a street-wise business person who knows how to conduct business. You keep a solid wall between personal life and the hobby. I think some day facial-recognition software will out you, but on the other hand, I love seeing your eyes.

Retired Submariner,

Awww! Thank you for using my nick-name! But please, do not apologize my dear, I just recently moved here to Jacksonville, FL and I swear, that move, with three kids, is going to have me planted here for a very long time, but I do wish you nothing but the best with your business and I hope you strike oil one of these days and maybe you'll think about buying some property down here in Jax? Or maybe if I'm really lucky, one of these days you'll want to see the white sand beaches of Florida?

Thank you for honesty, I would love to get some professional shots done, and it is on my list of things to do, I just need to get the right outfits together. When I was packing up my personal belongings, I thought, "I'm just going to be working my normal job so I don't anything extra.", how wrong I was! And I love that little comment about my eyes, hopefully you'll get to see my eyes in person one day!

I would like to think that I run a pretty tight ship. I have a job outside of escorting so I'm not running around rushing to get seen. I want to really get to know the people that want to see me, and if I feel that "said person" and I aren't a good match, I hope that I can point them in the right direction. Sucking dick is easy, but liking the person connected to that dick can be a whole different story. And I am 100 times more passionate with a friend than I will ever be with a stranger. But for the most part, I speak my mind and I'm pretty much an open book. Hopefully in the future, I just make the right sort of friends that can get me out of trouble that deals with that type of software!
