I too miss the more thoughtful discussion threads. I'm not sure that they're necessarily gone, so much as they're getting buried with all the inane question threads being started by one poster in particular.

I think that questions and concerns that people have is a way for everybody to get to know each other. Yes there mabey some questions that are not really hobby realted, but this is a open forum. I enjoy everything that people have to write.

I agree that reading what people choose to say here is a way to "get to know them." Just not sure there's much there to make me want to know them better.

Have you seen that commercial where the tennis pro is about to serve and all the nitwits run onto the court? I think there are still thoughtful, interesting people around. It may be that a lot of them just don't want to step into the inane bullshit that some others put up. "Pearls before swine" and all that.

I know that sounds mean (and chipper has told me to be nice) and I don't really mean it to be, nor am I referring to anyone in particular. But it is a bit discouraging, overall.

It does turn the board from an info source into more of a playground. Some people like it that way though, I know of two other boards which are info rich but not much play. Sometimes I prefer it that way, and other times when I get bored I come here and read about tongues in asses and cumming on faces and other things that many ladies flame about.
