Though formally called Cossart Road, locals call it Devil’s Road due to the fact that, down the winding road, sits a house. This house is surrounded by black SUVs when the occupants are home, and many have speculated that it could be owned by some satanic group or even the KKK. The trees surrounding the road and property are so spooky-looking that M. Night Shyamalan filmed The Village in the woods and field not far from it.
the area referred to is Chadds Ford, PA.

Legend states that the trees lean away from Cossart Road in a desperate attempt to be further away from the evil road, which is colloquially known as Devil's Road. The source of bad spirits in the area is said to come from the DuPont family, who lived in a large stone mansion off of Devil's Road.

The rumors themselves are vague, but often fall back upon Satanism, the Ku Klux Klan, and incestuous marriages. It is said that the DuPonts would marry only relatives in order to keep their fortune within the family, and that their deformed offspring were locked in the mansion.
Whether or not the rumors are true about the DuPonts and the hauntings in the area, it is undeniable that very strange things occur here. Aside from the bent trees, piles of dead animals are occasionally found in the woods, and vandalism is not uncommon. Which of these incidents could result from teenagers, and which could result from something more? Who knows.
If you choose to visit this haunted road in Pennsylvania, do so with caution. The area's residents are not fond of the curious trespassers and sometimes will even chase them away. It may be best to appreciate this particular haunted place from afar.

We have & had a more local place- Blue Mist Road/Trail. A buddy of mine walked it one night with his wife & said he could hear things making weird noises in the woods. I often wonder how many of the strange sounds were deer hissing?
There was also the old Broughton Elementary school. But its now torn down, supposedly. Was there with some friends late one night. F'ing creepy as hell. All the doors open to the same angle, and the classrooms alternated between hot & cold. Did I see ghosts? Nope! But a girl who was with us discovered her hands were bleeding along the lines of her palm when we left. Not like gushing, but like paper cut bleeding.
Out by me is "The Black Cross". Drove past it, but couldn't find a place to pull over. Besides, the idea of leaving my black car, pulled along side a back road with no lighting, in the middle of nowhere, made me paranoid that someone would come along & hit my car.

for the electric company or a place like that surely got himself
ELECTROCUTED - and could be seen walking-about the area in
