Blackmail Attempt

Idiot sends the following Email, to which I then respond:

I am aware xxxxxx is your password. Lets get directly to the point. You may not know me and you're probably wondering why you are getting this email? Nobody has paid me to check you.

In fact, I actually placed a software on the adult video clips (pornography) web-site and you know what, you visited this website to have fun (you know what I mean). When you were watching videos, your browser started operating as a Remote control Desktop with a key logger which provided me with access to your display screen and web camera. after that, my software program collected your entire contacts from your Messenger, social networks, as well as email . After that I made a double-screen video. 1st part shows the video you were watching (you've got a nice taste lol), and 2nd part shows the view of your webcam, yeah it is you.

There are not one but two possibilities. We should explore each one of these choices in aspects:

Very first option is to skip this e mail. Consequently, I am going to send out your very own videotape to all your your contacts and then think about the awkwardness you will definitely get. Not to mention if you are in a committed relationship, exactly how it would affect?

Other solution is to pay me $946. Let us refer to it as a donation. In this situation, I most certainly will promptly discard your video. You can go on daily life like this never occurred and you are never going to hear back again from me.

You will make the payment by Bitcoin (if you don't know this, search for "how to buy bitcoin" in Google).

BTC Address to send to: 1HWMGohEVXPE9abn4csyqWpwYdvn76 BPw2
[case-SENSITIVE copy & paste it]

If you may be wondering about going to the law enforcement, well, this email can not be traced back to me. I have dealt with my steps. I am just not looking to demand so much, I would like to be compensated.

You have one day in order to make the payment. I have a specific pixel in this message, and right now I know that you have read through this message. If I don't receive the BitCoins, I definitely will send your video recording to all of your contacts including family members, co-workers, and so forth. Nevertheless, if I receive the payment, I will erase the recording immediately. If you want to have proof, reply with Yup! then I definitely will send your video to your 15 contacts. This is a nonnegotiable offer therefore please do not waste my personal time and yours by responding to this e-mail.

My response:

Your Bitcoin Funds Have Been Deposited!

Lol that's an old, partial password from many moons ago, but your blackmail speech was scary just the same!

So allow me to clear up what you "claim" to know about me, in sending your generalized mssg template out to countless potential victims:
  1. That's not and never has been a password I've used. But I just turned my remote access / assistance off again and restored my computer to reverse any action you may have caused regarding it, while I'm seeing nothing out of place in my device manager.
  1. I don't even like porn, let alone visit topic sites.
  1. I've had tape over the camera lenses of all devices since I can remember (and long before Ed ward Snow den's dis closure on gov spy ing).
  1. The authorities could care less when nobodies like me are threatened online. But if you think they couldn't find you because you're that clever, you're an even bigger idiot than you've portrayed. You too are just a nobody trying to bully another nobody, and they wouldn't spend the money on the resources and manpower needed to find your ass unless it was in their best interest... and never confuse paranoia with being educated past common knowledge, on any subject.
  1. So unless you want a pre-paid content writer to correct all the typos in your speech and research the correct terminology for that which you've made up (not possible), kindly fuck off and refrain from any further contact with me you lazy, unemployed, uninformed, lying piece of work. And do switch it up... I'm about to exploit YOU virally.

Don't be this jerk's victim! Because with exception to "not liking porn / visiting porn sites", all else I replied is true, so it's impossible for them to have footage of me watching porn. Though, so what if they did? Idiots!
This email word for word was sent to numerous people in my office and forwarded to the office that handles phishing scams. The sender has way too much time on their hands

I have received this and several variations of it regularly, some of which appear to be sent from one of my e-mail accounts with a password that I did use at some point in the past, it is quite upsetting not from the threat of notifying friends and relatives that I have viewed porn and jerked off while watching, what man doesn't,but the fact that were able to get the information at all. I
Use three e-mail accounts and these extortion attempts are from only one account of which I contacted and was told to ignore and delete them,I am going one step further and cancelling the account! Any other suggestions?

My reply would have been along the lines of "If I send half the money, will you post the video somewhere online too? I'm trying to get famous, but no porn sites will take any of the movies I made."
Kelsi - Nice response there !
It's super scary. Shows you how important it is to have up to date passwords. I cannot imagine what it will be like in 5 years from now.

Don't really have advice lickidyclit... except to continuously change your passwords, but even then, with algorithm password detection software (not sure of the jargon), it can still easily be determined.

However, that doesn't come cheap...

...Which leads me to question, how did this person come up with a figure of $934? Kind of an odd number. Maybe that's what the software costs lol. Any intelligent criminal is going to reinvest in their business...

Gotta' hand it to them, pretty clever for that portion of the masses that isn't too bright. They've probably made a buck or two, while only a fraction of it is truthful. The expert they're trying to portray would have used more distinct terminology for the alleged gadgets/software used IMO.

Thinking it's either a (not-so-successful) career criminal OR a current/former employee with access to outdated info.

Clues for anyone wanting to investigate this further:
- from personal Email acct... NOT affiliated with stage name
- received through older version of an Email address that's since been shortened in past 10 yrs (orig address apx 20 yrs old)
- password only similar to old/initial one
- original suffix address = "@msn.com" (since shortened via "@live.com")
- person DID turn my Remote Access Assistant "on", however, bc I periodically confirm its "off" status (Gateway laptop running older version of Windows with Chrome browser)
- if "key logger" was truth, they'd know my current password
- if "access to web cam" was truth, they'd see solid black-out (electrical tape-covered)

Good point about disabling remote access though, never considered that, but what more can you expect from a not too bright guy who jerks off to porn on his laptop, lol!

Heehee! Poor imbecile has no idea who they're dealing with... probably NONE of us would be ashamed if our jerk-smirk was sent to our contact list. I just request that my video comes with the captions, "those who live in glass houses... ya' hypocrite!"

In a way, the current trend of females claiming to be traumatized for life because some guy,who now just happens to be a successful, wealthy celebrity,30 years ago, attempted to get in her pants is a form of extortion.News flash, men initiate sex, that is the way it has been since time began. If I was a woman, I would feel honored that some guy wanted to fuck me,its just nature that guys seek sex! look at the number of successful men ruined of late for having a normal sex drive when they were young!

It's scientifically proven even in long term commitments a man measures how the relationship is by sex of course silly women measure on the cuddle/attention meter. Personally I wondered if something was wrong if my guy wasn't wanting to jump my bones but then I'm not devious enough to think up a scam like this let alone put off something so evil. Ruin or attempt to ruin a person's life out of greed or anything else for that matter. SMDH
