The good news and bad news.

The good: I have had some very fine dates with a lady from here at weddings, reunions, business formals, etc. A lot of the ladies I have met are beautiful, intelligent, and can hold their own very well in those events--sometimes far better than I can.


The bad: If the wedding is "soon", that is not a lot of time to do it right. Every lady I have taken I knew for a while. I knew her personality, her real info, she knew mine, and we were comfortable enough that I could tell her real info about the other key people she would meet there. Without that backstory, it is too hard for her to pass as anything more than "someone I met last week and asked to be my date here". Without a backstory that will allow reasonable conversation, there will be too much opportunity for seriously faux pa events. And that level of trust doesn't come in one meeting.
