Looking For An Apartment

Hi Everyone,

Posting this in multiple forums, with the hope someone can help.

I am looking to move apartments in January. This will be the apartment I will live in, full-time, but I will also be providing from it.

I am looking/interested in the following areas:

Galleria
Briar Forest
Spring Branch
West-ish Houston (west of 610, somewhere close to I10, like Blalock, Campbell, etc, or over by the Beltway)

Nothing over $600 or so a month. And I also need to find a place that can work with me on income requirement and credit score (mine aren't exactly stirling).

If anyone knows of a place they can point me towards, or a provider friendly apartment locator, please post or pm me. Thanks so much!!!
Not being mean or anything....

The locations you ask for with a less than stellar credit.

Just get a van and camp out by an underpass.

600 bucks a month in Houston , the van is a better idea.
The best you can try for in that area is something on Fountainview. But even then the rent is above $600. I'm going to PM you one suggestion that is also in the area.

maybe find a studio apartment...try craigslist and put in search engine what qualities you are looking for

good luck
Thank you Muse & Dallas.

I have am checking out craigs as well as an apartment locator. There are actually several apartments all over those areas between $500-$600, and studios are even less.

I just wanted to try all avenues, so I can have as many options available to me as possible.

No mam.....

I was looking for a cheap one so I would not have to commutte....,

My search returned all shitholes that were under 600 bucks. I visited most of them.

I went west, got a nice apartment for 1 year, 750 a month.... Still a shit hole.

A one bedroom in that area is at least $1000 a month. A two bedroom $1200 and up. The only exception is a run down complex inhabited by mostly minorities.
I'm no apartment expert.

But if you'd let me fuck you in that nice azz once per month, you could up that budget to 850.

Now if you consider stuff off Richmond/Westheimer/Hillcroft/Dunvale, there may be some places that are cheaper. But you may want to read reviews and crime reports. Many of this places are infested with roaches and bedbugs and have a lot of crime (car and apt break-ins as well as some violent crimes).

Maybe something around Tanglewilde?

Here is a decent quick reference for easily digestible crime data, you can look by zipcode or specific address to narrow it down. It isn't as comprehensive as looking at the HPD crime stats spreadsheets but it will give you a fairly good idea.

Good luck

Houston has torn down hundreds of thousands apartment units over the past 20 years. The ones replacing them are over priced luxury units. The Spring Branch area is ripe with McMansions due to the large lot sizes there.
