How tainted is the pool?

So today it was documented that in 2013 Charlie Sheen spent 1.6 million on escorts... and there is no information on when he contracted HIV... so given the statistics what does that mean for the hobby?

What is the average test rate for providers? How often do you test? If you came up positive would you stop the hobby?

What is the average test rate for hobbiest? How often do you test? If you came up positive would you quit?

It is a very sad for all those involved with Charlie Sheen and I have to admit these kinds of threads put a major downer on my purpose here on this horny earth, so generally do not like to reply. Though for some reason listening to some of the ladies reactions on t/v and then thinking what ladies like myself do... it is a known chance we take in the industry. The only way to prevent is abstinence. Since that is not going to happen.. Safe Sex. We should always get tested atleast every 6-8 months. I had my last test less than 2 months ago.. I'm still here for the long run!

Total major downer.

I get tested every 3-4 months.

My biggest worry is that hobbyists may not test often enough, or even at all. That's why I test so often...to make up for the lack of testing on anyone else's part.

Every 90 days when I renew my depo

Or 10 days after any gangbang

I've been lucky so far, people talk about the hobby like it's one big cespool... But it's just payed swingers

In the case of HIV, all testing will do is to tell you you're fucked and have to retire. It doesn't prevent anything. Ijs.
Have to retire? Heh. You got jokes today, Luke.

Considering the high moral standards of our little community*, I'd guess all it does is tell people they don't have to worry about catching anything anymore. Not saying anything specific about anyone, but that's the sense I get from those who don't seem concerned with it.

I donate blood every few months as well as see my obgyn every six months. Unless I would see a need to go in for something out of the ordinary then I stick to that schedule.

*I got jokes too
I was talking to a provider about the Charlie Sheen ordeal. She sent me an article of a provider who got into trouble for sleeping with clients when she knowingly had full blown AIDS. She told me she "loves life" and that is why she straps up every time. This statement resonated heavily with me.

Medical science seems to hold the viewpoint that contractions of such diseases are very remote and almost non-existant if the carrier of the virus is on medication. Even if the subject partakes in unprotected sex with the carrier. Especially if the subject is male (percentages seem to vary by demographic and sexual act).

Although the likelihood is remote and almost non-existant, it isn't none existant. Anyone who partakes in the act of unprotected is aware of the risk they take and it is their choice whether to go for it or not.

I tell you what though, I think seeing some of the cases and articles out there would make people think a little harder about "if" they do it and "who" they do it with.

pyramider, I figured that you would have asked How pooled is the taint?
Every provider I've asked say they get tested regularly. They want to be safe. A few years ago I had a condom break when I was with a provider. I was really scared for about a year after. I was sure I had piced up the HIV virus. I kept going to get tested. The tests were always negative but for some reason I was still afraid. Finally the lady at the health department told me not to come back!

HIV is not easily transmitted. You have a bigger risk of catching something else like herpes. Charlie was with so many women and I'll bet he paid extra to go bareback. It was just a matter of time before he caught it. I don't understand why any provider would be willing to do uncovered full service. Not long ago I was with a BP provider. She tried to talk me into a "hats off" session for a little extra donation!

I've been doing this for quite some time now.

I've always let my doctor know what I do, so should anything creep up, like a condom break (shortly after my three month testing schedule), I don't look silly coming back in for another test.

I don't think as many married men go in for testing, because they can't figure out a good excuse to get it done without their SO finding out through their insurance, but if they can find time to go see a provider, they can find a way to do testing off the books.

Either way, if they end up with something, they are going to have to explain it.

I do wonder however, what is up with guys asking the question, "Name your price for bareback?"

This has happened to me once in a session and twice in a PM after I made it clear that the only bareback I do is a bj. Is offering bbfs at a price, the newest thing going around bcd? (This literally just happened to me this weekend)

The Charlie Sheen fiasco also deals a blow to another theory, that theory being "high dollar" escorts are likely safer to see than lower cost women. I highly doubt Charlie spent much if any money on women charging below 300 dollars an hour. Higher rates doesn't necessarily make a provider safer or cleaner.
