What are some of the best mom and pop restaurants in Nacogdoches. Tired of commercial restaurants, I want to get something home cooked while I'm down.

You might check out Auntie Pastas, or Clear Springs. Also, the Taco Stand is legit.

I've worked in Nacogdoches for the last 15 years, and lived near there my whole life and have somehow managed to have never eaten there. Though I've heard great things about it.

As was mentioned Clear Springs and Auntie Pastas are both good (auntie pastas serves Italian food) Butcher Boys and Smokehouse are both good if you're looking for BBQ

I miss Nacogdoches. Did my college years down there, some of the BEST times

Those are still comercial type dollies diner down town would be a good start. Cowboy jacks salon is ok but closes early. Theres a few newer ones like Good Bites and grill near the university kroger, sams southern eatery across from the north street kroger is good if your wanting fried type sea food. Nijiyas for good local sushi.
