Although in the minority, I thought the 1/2time show was done fairly well considering that "stadium concerts" suck in general!, and translate even worse to TV. I have seen a few in person and a bunch on TV, lol, and although not the "best", I think this one was far from "the worst". (remember the "Up With People" years) I thought the BEP performance worked well as "jock rock", and the special effects were pretty good. Jerry World is a big place. If you would like to see a group for pure musical value Bass Hall might be a better venue. At least the BEP's "sand" and did not lip synch.
The "best" 1/2 times IMHO, were 93' SB when the 'Boyz beat the shit out of Buffalo. Jocko was the artist. There was a placard and a radio in every seat and you were instructed to put you ear buds in and follow the intructions as to what to do with your placard at the half. Made a nice visual for the folks at home, lol, we couldn't see shit with a board over our heads, lol.
Prince ('07) was the other I thought was great, and remember discussing that one on the "old board".... Sophie was in "7th heaven".
Glad you were not one of the "displaced" folks Fub', glad to hear SOMEONE have something good to say about it. Jerry World is fabulous, I think he just took on a bit more than he could chew in such a short time. And you KNOW it is not like he asked any of the previous hosts for any advice, lol.
Reese and Bloodhound have expressed their opinions, I'm interested to hear what anybody else thought... (day after SB is a "holiday" at my house, lol). Drop a post if you ain't to busy trying to schedule
