The ABCs of AMPs/EMPs

The purpose of this unofficial guide is to provide EMP (Erotic Massage Parlor) novices with the basics. To start with, EMPs are often times referred to as AMPs (Asian Massage Parlors). This can be misleading as not all AMPs provides erotic services.

Common Interior Design/Setup

EMPs everywhere across the USA are of a similar structural design. It usually has a very small lobby (entry area) with a doorbell button, a camera, and possibly a small window. Once inside the “spa” or “parlor” area, you'll notice a maze of hallways and rooms. A few EMPs have a large waiting area in which a client will be provided a line-up of service providers to select from. Some EMPs have a separate exit from the entryway to provide additional privacy for the clients.

The "maze" of hallways serves two purposes:

1. Provides privacy for clients. Very rarely will one client ever see another client.
2. Denies law enforcement (LE) easy access to all rooms in the event of a bust.

The Fees

There are two levels of service: the basic service and the tipped (erotic) services. Depending on the establishment, the basic service may include a:

* Table shower with a body shampoo (if available)
* Dry sauna (if available)
* Massage (always)

The typical fee for a 1-hour basic session is $60 - $80 depending on the locality. This is sometimes referred to as the “house” fee. The service provider may – or may not – receive a portion of the house fee.

The tipped services may include anything as basic as a manual release (hand job) to sexual intercourse (full service). The typical tipped services and fees are as follows:

$40 - $60 .... Hand job
$60 - $80 .... Oral
$100 - $140 .... Full service

I strongly suggest you leave your wallet and cell phone in your car and only carry the amount of money you intend to spend. The provider can't shake you down for money you don't have. Always pay with cash ... even if the establishment takes bank cards.

Getting Past the Entryway

Your first objective (and test) is getting past the entryway. You enter, ring the doorbell and wait nervously for someone to answer the door and hopefully greet you and invite you inside after you've been viewed via the camera or small window.

Typically, the lady answering the door will be the Mama-San, the gatekeeper/manager. Most Mama-Sans are older and have a severe attitude and countenance. Treat the Mama-San politely and with all the respect you can muster. Your experience depends on her approvals, in many cases.

The Mama-San will lead you down one of the hallways to a room. While walking down the hallway she will ask you if you've been there before. Your answer will always be yes. If she asks for the name of the provider; simply pick a common name and describe any average Asian young lady. Do NOT provide any details of activity.

Once inside the room, she will typically ask if you want a table shower or massage ... or whatever the establishment's basic services include. Once she gains your acceptance, she'll state and collect the “house fee” from you for the basic services and tell you to get undressed.

Unless you want to be thrown out on your arse, never, ever ask for anything illegal!

If you have read reviews and know a provider's name, feel free to ask for her. Otherwise, the Mama-San will assign you a provider based on her whim, a provider's house ranking or availability. Keep in mind that most providers rotate in and out of a particular “house” every 4 – 6 weeks.

NOTE: Never mention reviews or the Internet. Guys have been turned away at this point for making this mistake. Unlike escorts, EMPs want to fly UTR (under the radar) so any publicity is potential trouble.

The Private Room

The private room may rage in size from a walk-in closet to a spacious 10' x 12' room. The room will always have a massage table and will usually have a chair and a place to hang your clothes. Nearly all rooms in an EMP will have the red ambient (mood) lighting.

Again, the Mama-San will tell you to undress. Disrobe immediately. This is VERY important. Getting naked is the first sign you are a real customer. Don't be shy about letting her see your cock. This will help to establish a level of trust between you and her.

The “Test” of Tests

Your service provider will enter your room to start the basic services a few minutes after Mama-San has left your room. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you let her discreetly know you are a hobbyist. Giving her a genuine hug allowing her to feel your cock (hopefully erect) against her body gets the message across without saying a word.

At this point your provider will lead you the table shower area or massage table to begin your basic services. Take advantage of this time to get to know your provider. Ask questions. Show interest in her.

Don't hesitate to use this time to take some gentle, respectful liberties. FYI, groping and making lewd and vulgar comments is not respectful behavior.

Tipped Services

Assuming you have passed the tests to this point, she will ask you “what you want” in some way ... or by her actions. Often times this will happen when she's done massaging your back and asks you to turn/flip over.

This is the time to respectfully discuss/negotiate fees and services. Occasionally, price is never discussed. That means she trusts you to fairly compensate her for her services. This is an honor. Do not take advantage of her.

Most of the time the “tip” is given in advance of the service. Some providers feel more comfortable receiving the tip after the service is rendered. This call is up to the provider ... not the client.

Special Services

Keep in mind that normal, standard practice is that oral and full services are performed using a condom.

If you want things like kissing or Greek, you need to ask the provider about them when negotiating.

Sometimes you will get a provider who doesn't do extras. No amont of signals or money will help. That's life. You will get the basic service but no extras. This may be because you sent the wrong signals, she's not sure that you are not law enforcement, or Mama-San has restricted your services to “basic only”. Don't be rude or angry. We all have had (or will have) a similar experience ... it goes with the territory and you're not being picked on.

Finding An EMP

EMPs are everywhere! One is near you. Let your fingers do the walking in the Yellow Pages. You can usually tell by their Asian name or for the services offered like spa, sauna, back rub, massage, acupressure, etc.

Places that use terms like licensed massage provider are NOT EMPs.

Treat the Providers Well

Please treat these providers with respect and dignity. Many of these young ladies are illegal aliens and spend nearly their entire time in the USA in the parlor. They sleep there, eat there, and work there. Kindness and respect go a long way to assuring a positive experience.

Naomi, the rates I stated are common rates based on 2009 to present AMP reviews and posts as posted on http://eroticmp.com.

Las Vegas, Hawaii, New York City and several cities in Florida are common exceptions and there will always be particular exceptions by AMP and/or provider.

As a regular customer to two separate AMPs with a particular provider at each AMP in my area, I receive a 60 to 90-minute session that includes a table shower, dry sauna, massage, oral and full service for the $60 house fee an a $100 "tip" to the provider for a total cost of $160. These providers are Korean, between the ages of 22 and 26, are two of the most beautiful ladies I've ever seen and were trained by a nationally-known, elderly Mama-san/trainer (ex provider) in Flushing, New York.

The normal price for a 60-minute session with the two providers at these AMPs is $200.

That being said, the Mam-san and providers at each of these two AMPs are well aware of the volume of gents I send to them.

By the way, I find it very interesting the varied ways AMP providers are compensated. There are a myriad of different ways ... especially between the "happy ending only" houses and the full service houses. I also know that AMP providers within a house may be compensated differently based her experience, satisfaction levels and number of regular customers, etc. To me, it appears that an AMP provider's compensation is more merit based. I worked at a parlor for 6 months and as a massage girl for 3 months. I found that independents pretty much charged whatever they wanted there is no set price. I saw girls that charged $40 for a bodyrub and hj and even offer extra services. I also saw ladies like myself that charged $100 for bodyrub and hj and didn't offer any extra services. I saw about 3-5 clients a day and worked 3 days a week. Pretty good money if you ask me. I guess you can say I was a high-end fbsm provider.

When I worked for the agency it was way more money even though I was in competition with other ladies. There was enough business/enough money coming in to go around. When a client walked in the girls would line up, all dressed in fine lingerie and he would pick who he wanted to see. The parlor was bodyrub and hj only. The house took $50 out of our pay and it wasn't unusual for a client to leave a $100 tip. There were even monitors in our rooms to make sure we weren't having sex with the clients.. LOL!! Girls were fined/or fired if they were caught stealing clients. There were girls that were hotter than others, had bigger boobs than others and we were all paid the same. Some girls did prostate massages, I didn't and I made just as much as the girls that did. So the pay was more based on looks than skill.

It was a very good experience overall.

PJ, I think is varies not only by MP but also by geography. For instance, here in Phoenix and in SoCal, (all F/S MP's) 100% of the door fee (typically $40/60) goes to the house and the lady keeps 100% of the tips. So out here at least, the providers compensation is totally determined by several factors; negotiation skills, service level, quality of services, attitude, etc. All things she controls. Free market economy at its best!
