Obamacare sucks

It was a good ideal in the beginning before insurance and big pharma lobbyists turned it into a give-away for corporations.

A balanced article about the top ten health care systems in the world.
http://www.howstuffworks.com/10-heal...ems.htm#page=1

USA is down near Russia.

I may go to Brazil for the Olympics. The Health Ministry is preparing for the prostitution trade (legal) by doing an educational campaign for visitors and sex workers to make sure everyone stays healthy. That kind of thing could never happen in the US due to right wingers and religious fanatics.

The article isn't about the top 10 healthcare systems in the world though. #10 on their list is Russia, which they say is one of the crappier ones.

It's just a list of 10 health care systems, not the top 10.

It also doesn't mention anything about the US being down near Russia...

Certainly I agree there are things we can do to improve our health care system and it's a shame we can't when other countries in the world can provide cheaper and better care to their citizens in a myriad of ways.

However, the article you posted doesn't even mention the ACA, which the title of the thread would seem to imply.

If you hate "Obamacare" you should move to Britain. Try the NHS for a while! Even with all the lines and waiting I still quite fancy our UK system vs. the "all-private" system the USA has. Sadly the NHS back home is going broke

I have to repudiate the "good idea in the beginning" meme. The original purpose was to insure 40 million people before it became about affordability. The problem is that Obama said that insuring another 40 million people would not cost anymore, require any more healthcare professionals, or buildings than before. It was impossible when it was proposed and it is still impossible.

There is very little about the so named "Affordable Healthcare Act" that is affordable.

Using some organizations criteria of judgement can place the "delivery" of healthcare an any number of positions.
The fact is, the United States healthcare industry is one of the best in the world with people from all over the world coming here for treatment. Obamacare has done nothing to improve our position other than to move us up as the most expensive.

A report on Fox 26 this morning claimed that 40 percent of doctors are not accepting new medicare patients because of the lower and lower reimbursements and the amount of paperwork involved in getting said reimbursements.

Why would the Affordable care act be any different than Medicare? They both are/will be run by bureaucrats.

The Report on 26 focused on a doctor in Clear Lake with 40 years of experience as a family doctor who is closing shop because he can't afford to stay in business in his individual practice. His wife is the administrator of the practice.

We've been hearing from doctors since the ACA was passed that this would happen. Granted this guy may be ready to retire and is using this as an excuse but he really didn't seem like it in the interview.

One of my personal physicians has told me that he has seriously considered retiring. He has enough money to do so but feels that he was called to be a doctor and wants to continue as long as he is able. He doesn't like the government being involved in his practice though and that is driving him toward the door. In the end it will be a personal decision that every doctor will find themselves making one way or the other.

uncle Hannity ...

sit in the corner, point fingers , and call names.. apparently that's your forte'

aside from that , you contribute absolutely nothing in the form of intelligent debate

like I said, you're a neocon.

and yes, Gouging medicare is no longer an option ..

Love it or hate it, the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, has forced the country to evaluate the costs behind medical treatment. In particular, medical billing has come under recent scrutiny, revealing a tremendous amount of price gouging and absurd billing by hospitals. Articles in TIME and stories in CNN are exposing how bad things have gotten. Insurance companies negotiate prices, and help to keep some costs in check, while Medicare and Medicaid regularly keep prices on the extremely low end for recipients. However, for the unfortunate millions who have no insurance, prices can be four to ten times higher than what insurers regularly pay for the same service. As many self-employed people have also discovered, so called “discount” insurance plans are often just as bad as no insurance at all.

so in essence, youre a dumb motherfucker, kiss my Texas ass!
