So.. I'm getting very annoyed at all the people I hear who start sentences with "so"..

Elizabeth Warren is a good example.. she starts every sentence by saying "so..."

almost every sentence.. I think women do it more than men, but I'm hearing a lot of guys now, too.. it's like a vocal tic, maybe a replacement for "uh", which I hear much less than in past years.

I can't think of a single instance when the beginning word "so" added to the discourse. remove it, and the sentence works just fine

yeah, I've noticed the same thing. It's annoying as fuck. As is Bernie's "let me be perfectly clear..." usually when he's being anything but.

I'm getting SICK and tired of hearing Upspeak/Uptalk. It sounds ridiculous in nearly any venue or situation. Very silly sounding.
