Memorial Day

We get to have this fun because of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe, including my best friend who I miss every damn day. Hate on me if you want for this post, they sacrificed so you can, but I wanted to say it.

You are right on point htownhunter.
That's right! No shame in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Anyone who has a beef with that can shut up, pack up and leave. Have a great Memorial day!

Yes, it's important that we remember the real meaning of the "holiday," the continuing bravery that makes our beer, boobs, and BBQ appreciation possible.

Every male in my family since coming to America from Ireland at the beginning of the Prohibition (bad timing for devout whiskey drinkers!) has served in the Armed Forces and every conflict subsequent, mostly in the Navy, but a few trod the sod as Infantrymen. My 19-year-old cousin (who was eligible for deferment but refused) made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam, and my uncle (Korean vet) was so heartbroken at the death of his only son he died days later, so two good men were lost in that war. I will raise a glass to them Monday, as I do every Veteran's, Memorial, Independence, and their birthdays.

This thread will likely still end up in the Sandbox, however.

Htownh sorry for your loss. I feel it too. Been there done that I know how it feels when one does not come back home. One moment there and next moment gone. And and you have to face the loved ones. Words cannot bring back solace. Loss is A loss. Hope you are well. Keep the memories alive. Thanks for sharing and this post. Salute.

Dears folks lets celebrate today with a gratitude for the ladies who sees men returning from the front line. Much appreciated for your time generosity and kindness. It's a blessed feeling to be welcomed with open arms. It means a lot. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss brother. These fn protestors waving the Mexican flag and desecrating the American flag make me sick. The way our veterans are treated makes me sick.

Don't blame the Mexican flag waving protesters for the way veterans are being treated. Blame the Republicans in DC who continue to cut funding for all kinds of veteran programs.
