Instant Messaging - why don't more providers use instant messenging for contact?
For those that are curious, is there any particular reason that we do not see more providers using instant messenger rather than traditional phone contact?
you will hear many reasons..
"i get a better feel for the guy via phone"
"cuts out the fakes and time wasters"
"more personal"
of course trouble making guys know all these as being reasons why girls prefer phone calls and of course try to act accordingly via the phone call.. in the era of prepaids, having a guy call doesn't give you any info on the guy..
Of course I would NOT even set an appointment up solely via instant messenger.. initial contact, questions, "am i available" type things if they noticed me online was always gladly excepted.. but in the end, a phone call was always needed to confirm the date we just made because in the end, ANYONE can be on the other end of that computer..a person to young to be playing, a pissed off hobbyiest a girl doesn't wanna see, a pissed off wife/gf.. you don't know who you are really talking to on the computer..
atleast a phone call you can verify its a MAN (hopefully)...
Nice I do use instant message for those I have seen before but Deanna right a phone call is alway needed to confirm the appointment. Its just safer that way
As an old fart that is kind of all thumbs in the tech age, I find that a lot of ladies use texting...maybe not for the initial call, but for all subsequent contact until I am in her presence. Not too many IMHO, use IM, but definitely texting seems to be pretty prevalent.
Instant Messages never go away.
Too many questions too fast without knowing who's there - basically everything Deanna said.
