Business from Super Bowl--Boon or Bust?

Ladies, is this an event that's equally lucrative for local Providers? Will any of you be stocking up at The Mattress Store? Is it more trouble than it's worth? If you plan on sitting out the Super Bowl (business-wise) is it based upon past experience at another Super Bowl or something else?

Advocacy groups are all over BP this year to stop their escort ads. They want BP out of business before the Super Bowl http://www.change.org/petitions/view...xlv_and_beyond

They wont stop at breaking up CL and BP

So far, I've had a boatload of stupid text messages asking all sorts of idiotic questions and a few "gents" who think I have nothing better to do than wait on them, give them two hours but get paid for one and then they call me names.

Men, (if your behavior is described above) you really should use the manners your mama taught you. Calling me names and treating me badly won't get you an appointment.

Personally, I think it is going to be a bad week for most of the ladies.

Going back to this thread during the Texas/OU weekend, a couple of the ladies posted that it was slow so I expect it to be the same for Superbowl week(end).

For the ladies that use a hotel/motel as their incall, it is going to be especially tough because the hotels/motels will be raising their rates. Those ladies will either have to raise their rates to offset the increase in hotel/motel rates and/or take the risk of seeing a newbie (out of towner) and/or use their private residence as their incall (which most ladies will not do).

Good luck to the local ladies during Superbowl week(end).

With a large convention in town, you might notice a change or two. Not with the Super Bowl. It's more of a family and friends event.

Also, all of the hoopla about swarms of working girls coming into town and unsavory things going on is pretty much bullshit in my book.

I would expect the ladies to be slightly slower, to rely on regular clients as always, and just keep dodging bullets like we always do.

The people who are trying to shut down backpage are well meaning fools who have antiquated ideas on society and this world that many of us live in.

I have no patience or respect for that sector. As many of you know, most of us had some backasswards ideas when we got involved with p4p. Some were correct but most were not. Most of the clients on here are good men who just wish to enjoy themselves and escape the day to day drag in one hour increments.

The other is just crap. But I will stand by my statement of there isn't going to be men breaking down my incall door wanting to visit me during that week (but hope does spring eternal!). Might have some activities around the time of the Super Bowl. Men will be able to get out of the house a little easier and make a detour while going to game parties and the such.

If we're lucky!

Of course, there will be naysayers to what I've written.

In principle, I agree with you about leaving CL and BP alone.

But then reality sets in.

On Long Island in NY, they just found (accidentally) the bodies of 4 women in the dunes along a half mile stretch of beach. When the snow from recent storms finally melts, they are going to resume searching for a fifth woman that is missing.

All four of the dead women were advertising on Craig's List. I don't know about the missing one. Since the bodies were all dumped in the same area, the police are pretty certain they dealing with a serial killer

So maybe the people trying to shut down CL and BP aren't operating from antiquated ideas. Unless protecting women from a serial killer is now an antiquated idea.

Again, I don't have a solution to the tension between the competing considerations of protecting women on the one hand and allowing consenting adults to do as they please.

I'm just saying that, maybe, policing CL and BP isn't always an example of prudishness and appeasing the Church Lady types.

Shutting down those avenues of advertising won't stop anyone from harming a female in this biz if that is their intent. Screening practices are the best protection we have. Unfortunately, there are many naive and/or desperate ladies out there who do little or no screening and have no idea how to go about it.
