So.... what are the good hotels?

I'm coming back next week and am a bit out of the loop on the hotels in the Uptown area.....

Any new ones? Any that have gone downhill?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hope all is well .

The Joule downtown is a great hotel and pretty hip http://www.thejouledallas.com/

and there is a new Aloft downtown that's pretty cool too

+1 for the Aloft!

My Favorite is ZA ZA
My avatar was taken in a suite at Zaza (looking to find somewhere new)... see... never heard of Aloft. Dined at Joule when it opened, everyone but me had a less than stellar meal.

Thank you all .... keep the suggestions coming!

I always thought the Stoneleigh was nice; classy and traditional, and not that expensive.
But are the walls still paper thin at the Stoneleigh?

If Galleria area is a option I like Le Meridien , the only draw back may be everything is valet. Cool rooms though.
Nice one jfred .

I have yet to visit Le Meridien, I would love to stay near the Galleria but I just like Uptown too much!

Le Meridian is nice. You'll just have to meet your guests in the lobby and escort them up. You need a key to get anywhere on the elavator. However, I was impressed by the hotel. It's literally right next to the Galleria.

+1 on the Le Meridian. I've met one lady there. The inconvenience is having to use the valet and meeting the girl to bring you up. The same girl coming down to meet 2 or 3 guys a day and bringing them up could draw some unwanted attention.
