That's OK, Elisabeth, we don't love your technological abilities. But, yes, everything on TV has come a long way. I can remember sitting in front of the TV discussing the bra commercials of the time in which the model wore the bra on the outside over her sweater or blouse. We decided that the day would never come when the model wore only the bra!!

I think there is an adage about a slippery slope here somewhere!!

Overall I did like it though. For the actual comparison, I think it falls right in line with normal progression of music videos.
Kind of artsy compared to some junk video someone tried comparing to Prince and Modonna here before.

Thanks for the post.

Where YoutubeID is the Youtube View ID.

Nothing to it.
It's all bullshit that borders on softcore porn now.

The music "stars" of today make up for a lack of talent with shock and raw.

Elizabeth,

I thought the video was visually stimulating.

I also agree that if it weren't for T&A videos most rap would die out.

It's not worth listening to the music to see the videos.

I have often thought of making videos to some of the old music standards.

I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine
I loaded sixteen tons of number nine coal
And the straw boss said "Well, a-bless my soul"

You load sixteen tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain
Fightin' and trouble are my middle name
I was raised in the canebrake by an ol' mama lion
Cain't no-a high-toned woman make me walk the line

You load sixteen tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

And I remember those commercials!!!

The artistry was rather pretty. And I thought that it was odd to use such shibari as part of the video, which is why I put this topic in Another Realm.

I'm much older than many of the members here. And sometimes, I feel it. Often, I don't. Point being is that I don't relate to a lot of the current music that is out there, like this song.

And I LIKE some mystery. So much of what I see today is just really out there. Nothing wrong with that but shock value doesn't do anything for me.

I'm immune to it, pretty much. So I'm looking, in entertainment, for a certain intrinsic value and it doesn't have to include T & A at all, or even bizarre imagery (although sometimes, that really helps!).

Thanks for asking!

Sincerely,
Elisabeth
