Flat earth vs round earth?

I guess this is a topic of interest for some. One member has mentioned this several time’s although it had nothing to do with the OP. I really don’t care what shape it is. I’ve never fell off, nor do I know anyone who has.

But I’ve taken 3 flights to Asia. 16hr flights, at least 40,000 feet cruising altitude on a 747. I’ve never noticed any curvature. I’ve criss crossed the US at least 100 times. Never seen any curvature. I’m not sure why any side of this argument is important.

Your thoughts if any?

Did you read it? Interested in your thoughts.

Let's both read it and start an ECCIE book club.

You have to be ok with cigar smoke and whiskey if we're going to have a rousing discussion, though.

Why can't you just say you're in instead of forcing unnecessary competition?

I've got the younger, healthier lungs and liver. And better taste.

And yet your contribution to the Whiskey, Bourbon and Scotch thread was Bookers.

You're stuck with a palette where only Cubans matter despite what guys like Ventura and Saka are unlocking elsewhere.

Kind of a flat-earth style argument. It's ok to be set in your ways. Tastes are personal. Nostalgia can be strong. But change is constant. This big blue marble keeps on turning nonetheless as the universe hurtles through space towards entropy.

Book club could be a lot of fun, right?

Of course I have better taste. Tastes are personal.

I believe the earth is more ellipsoid than spherical, actually. A mix of science, anecdotal evidence and faith.

I don’t think it’s completely flat. But I don’t believe it’s round like a basketball. And I have impeccable taste.

Sounds like you're saying ellipsoid

I could be swayed to geoid if you've got a solid argument.
