Chrome says this site is....

Trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources.

It didn't used to do this, what gives?

My kaspersky sometimes blocks this site saying your at risk of hacking. Idk
No problems with Mozilla Firefox...........yet
Current standard for secure and safe is https, rather than http, nothing you can deal with yourself, it's a part of the site build.

Chrome and other browsers will detect the difference and notify you.
Every page in ECCIE is loaded with Javascript ad banners .... I just default to "run no scripts" and the pages load faster but occasionally hang up waiting for a script to load. hitting the reload / refresh button in Firefox usually takes care of it.

Use a crap cleaner to clean up old and potentially dangerous scripts....
I use chrome browser with ccleaner and have had none of the problems that you are having.
