What if they were Texas Vampires? There are a lot of bat colonies around Austin.

I'm with Oden. Texan Vampires would be the ultimate opponents. They could easily win a bar fight against werewolves, ninjas, pirates and Chuck Norris. All at the same time.

Well, I guess technically those vamps in Near Dark are Southerners, not sure if it is Texas. Jesse does elude to meeting Severn during the civil war. They may have been "Gone To Texas" as many confederate vets made Texas their home were post civil war.
Mae says she was from Sweetwater. Caleb is from Oklahoma. When they are the run, it seemed liked they were in Texas for the bar scene. Does anyone know?
