What killed this place?

I logged off for a few years and upon a quick return visit it's a ghost town. Few members, fewer posts and no selection. WTF? Did it implode as predicted?
Mods that favor "providers" that shouldn't be here because they pose a threat to every hobbyist they see; using the ban hammer on anyone they don't personally agree with;

Trolls that are more interested in stirring up chit than getting laid;

Providers that have the full range of (forbidden topic) issues yet the mods let them post away;

This board is useless as far as an honest and open exchange of useful information; it is however, more fun than your favorite reality show!

It shut down for a few months last year after FOSTA/SESTA, and some people moved to another site and didn't come back.

Came back after the shutdown with new rules, mostly about explicit content in ads and reviews, that some people don't like, but that protect the site from undue attention.

Also some folks had gotten tired of unnecessary rudeness and drama, and moved elsewhere in the interim. Mods are addressing the unnecessary rudeness problem and enforcing rules more, and so the site is not dead yet. But its reputation from the past is still alive, so it's still noticeably less traveled, but springing back.

And who knows why people participate less? A lot of people are trying to be more cautious about their online presence because of the aforementioned changes in legislation. That could change as time passes and folks realize that the sky is not really falling.

And I think a lot of the drop-off in participation is because of a small minority of peeps who seemed more interested in trolling than hobbying. It's quieter now that rules are enforced more, but there's also less drama to chase the core hobby people away.
@DevNull: true that and well put and also probably a lot of the folks that started with ASPD, even before I heard of the place have aged and moved on or UP. They were kind of different generation that was not raised on electronic and social media so had the chance to develop some manners.
@Dev Null: Thanks for the heads up.

also, a lot of the girls got tired of being run down and dissed, so they moved on or quit, leaving much less of a choice. Some of the "faithfuls" turned out NOT to be, and either moved on or were moved on. There's still a few of the great ones around, ya just gotta be patient, oh , and it helps to have a bigger pocket full of cash than before.
Shits boring around here since we can't be ourselves. People claim they hated the drama but thats the only thing that was keeping this place relevant.

Fosta and sesta are to blame.

Sugaring is the new way to hobby, it is more socially acceptable now than ever. That's where all the hot young girls are at and most of them, though not all, are looking for platonic only arrangements. No hot young fresh meat here.

Age has nothing to do with it, plenty of fine ass providers on here who are over the 35 and you don't see them constantly posting lame ass threads in here. The truth is, just like in society, the powers that be catered to the lowest common denominator. The sensitive cry babies, and now you have this.... A boring ass board with no enticing threads, that STILL has little to no women participating.

Then you have the cyberstalkers who try to hurt the business of gals they consider less desirable by posting shit about them without any evidence. Who would want to post here and subject themselves to public humiliation and abuse when they see shit like that?

You see a lot less posts by a certain few guys calling all the gals whores, for example, now that the mods are enforcing the site rules. Those guys don't like it, because they get off on acting all superior, so you see them on here from time to time whining about the good old Lord Of The Flies days when enforcement of the rules was lax.

But they really weren't very helpful, and they dissuaded a lot of gals from posting for obvious reasons. It's terrible marketing to be associated with negativity, so it chases off the guys, too, especially old-school ASPD guys who remember the golden days when respect was king.

It may take some time for people to come back here again. Many will never come back, since there is another site that gets the job done. And the rest may wait and see if the enforcement of rules is here for the long haul or just a flash in the pan.

Pretty sad.
Yeah no one cares about rudeness in the forums except some very weak people and manipulative people working an angle. In fact I'd say the majority would prefer this place were a little rougher and a little more honest.

Hate to break it to you but people like you attempting to bubble wrap the world is not a popular position. If anything being more restrictive causes people to LEAVE. Eventually it will just be DevNull talking to himself about manners. And Little Monster still reporting everything that I say on the boards.

The reason this place has fallen off is because of the more draconian posting guidelines and the fact that there is no daily posting forum. Guys are here to find girls. Girls are here to make money. Girls only being able to post a max of 2 ads a week (and threADs) means girls get less visibility for services and guys have a harder time finding them. This isn't rocket science. Did you really think we were all here for pleasant discussion?
