New Approach Coming to Beaumont: Thalia's Law

The Jefferson County District Attorney is believed to ready to try a new approach to cleaning up the escorting activity in west Beaumont, particularily Walden Road. First, I understand that the hotel management has been contacted to notify po po of any single, alone females who check into their hotels. This has been tried in Baton Rouge with great success. Second, someone who advertises an "incall" escort business will be charged with "aggravated promotion of prostitution", a third degree felony. The theory is that they are not escorting, they are running an unlicensed brothel. This is a very interesting concept.

"However, aggravated promotion is considered a 3rd degree felony. Someone who knowingly invests in, controls, supervises, maintains or manages a prostitution enterprise or house of prostitution is guilty of aggravated promotion. Sentences for defendants of this crime include 2 to 10 years in prison and fines up to $10,000."

So who wants to be the test case?
So according to this logic, if they check in with their pimps, then it is ok?
You could Just move up here to NE Texas. I would probably be a regular

Thank you for the warning!

I have no idea if this warning is true or not but I do know something is going on in Beaumont. I have traveled there at least once a month for a couple of years and never had any problems at any of the places I have stayed before. The last two times I was there I had problems at 2 different hotels with security and can't stay at either place again. I am very discreet and fairly low volume and still had trouble.

Yep I was there a couple weeks ago

the hotel I was at had a couple cop cars cruising the parking lot........and at the same time my "client" arrived and called me for the room,there were two undercover guys with guns on their sides going into the hotel{I knew they were cops cause they had the typical texas style constable look}

{I never answered the phone & left immediately}

thanks for the alert & be careful ladies & gents!
This is the reason I go to h-town.Larger cities tend to be a little more easier to play in.I would rather stay here but just can't feel comfortable in small town.What about the LC area,has anyone ever had any close calls or hear about stings their?

Lake Chuck seems to be okay...never heard anything since I have been around{over 6 years}
Too many cops with not enough legitimate work to conduct here?? One of the main reasons I dont hobby much at all anymore.. Can't take the risk..
I would first like to know how and where CompleteDenial got his information?
I read the newspaper......gulf coast peace officers convention.....new tactics in fighting prostitution.....presented by one of the assistant district attorneys in Lafayette....and commented on by a few of the attendees saying they were going to give this a try.....whether or not they win or not,

Who wants to be the test case? Probably cost $50K to defend yourself, not to mention the stress, aggravation and lost business (who would want to see someone they knew was going through this?)
Please also explain why it is Thalia's Law. http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=283930

Was the above thread about a provider named Thalia? That was one of your first posts. Are you the ex or something?

Seems like the publication that you are referring to is something that someone in law enforcement would read.
