Questions about going to Juarez / MP’s

Slinking,

I have been to Juarez many times, more than I care to admit, so i will see if I can alleviate some of your worries.

1) I speak ZERO Spanish, never had a single issue. The ladies know why you came, the only issue is, they will try to up charge you, otherwise, no worries about not speaking Spanish.

2) Border Patrol doesn't care why you were in Juarez. Yes, it's their job to ask but they really don't care. I am about as white as you can get and they always ask me why i went to Juarez as well. My answer is always, "cheap beer & easy women", unless it's a female agent, thenI just say cheap beer. No matter what you say, they are not stupid and they know why you went, they don;t care and even if they did, they have no jurisdiction over what you do i Juarez. You could say i robbed a bank, they can;t do anything, you are an American re-entering your own country, they can;t stop you.

3) Taxis are your friends. they know how to get to every amp, yeah they will up-charge you a bit, but, it beats walking and with the exchange rate, it's only a few bucks. They'll even wait until your done and take you back to where they picked you up. Originally Posted by haymitch

And *newsflash*, I did go to Juarez today. Boy it was quite an adventure.

For one, I spoke to a taxi driver and he told me it will cost $20 USD to take me to Genesis. I said thanks no thanks and walked on. I went to the street next to the bridge (Av. Francisco Villa) where it is quiet and tried to get an Uber. What I didn’t know is I have T-Mobile and its unlimited internet doesn’t really cover Juarez. I mean when I went to Juarez before, I saw that I have some signal, and occasionally 4G, on my phone, with SMS capability, but it was intermittent. So I thought it’ll be enough to call an Uber. Nope, this time, my signal was completely gone. Luckily, I connected to a local free wi-fi but, long story short, the signal was poor and my Uber driver almost left (but thanks to her patience, she didn’t) when I decided to walk around to see if my signal gets better, since my app never updated me that a driver is on the way until like 5-10 minutes later, when my T-mobile signal magically came back up.

I went to Genesis and spoke with S** and L****, who spoke English and were friendly. They let me use their wifi to contact an Uber back. I will write about my encounter soon.

I will be driving from Phoenix to Dallas the 1st week of May. Thinking of heading across the boarder, if its still open. Not sure if I have the stones to go all the way to Genesis or Stoya, but maybe.

Could I go to one of the pharmacies across the boarder and get some Viagra or Cialis and bring it back across without a prescription? Would you just bring it, or claim that you have it?

Thanks
