Real vs not Real

My instincts tells me these ladies (or men posing) who direct you to a verify website is a scam. Most of the time their English is horrible which is my red flag. Sometimes though it nearly seems legit and I’m talking to a true American girl. I haven’t ever been suckered in but wonder if I’m really missing out. Are there legit ladies using these verify websites? Thanks
