what percentage of the adult male population is married?
what percentage of unmarried adult males are having sex, and how often?
it doesn't seem like a big stretch to assume that married men in general have more opportunity for sex than do unmarried men...so more sex = more heart attacks...plus i would guess that more of the older men who are more likely to have heart attacks are more likely to be married.

the one stat by itself, like 9/10 stats that fill the headlines, is worthless.

I think its the other way around. Most married men don't get that much action so if they are more likely to croak its because they don't get enough to keep their heart healthy. Single guys on the other hand are more likely to get a LOT more action and keep those heart muscles in shape.
