so many providers seem to be lesbians irl...wonder why that is. is this a new trend or have lesbians always been heavily represented in the hobby?

no, just straight up lesbians. there seem to be lot of them around in the hobby. I travel often to west coast and see that very clearly there, maybe coz the persona adopted by various subgroups on the coasts is much more pronounced than in south and hence easier to identify...

Yes there are lesbians in the hobby.
Always have been.
But there are also alot of people who say they are but aren't.
I used to use that line in my 20's all the time.
