I would say to stay around the airport area, very nice hotels and accessible to both sides of town...

Hi Cali, missing you !! Yes, as suggested above - the airport area is the best place to stay. Stay in a 2.5* hotel or above - because the 1* hotels and the cheap motels out there are horrendous.
El Paso hotel prices are much more reasonable than Midland/Odessa. Have fun on your trip !!
