With the win of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), his Democratic opponents are going to the well to try to take him down.
The senior advisor for Mike Bloomberg’s presidential campaign went back to a lot of old remarks by Sanders over the years during an interview pm “New Day” with anchor Alisyn Camerota on CNN. Even Camerota wasn’t aware of some of them and appeared a little stunned when O’Brien Brough them up.
O’Brien foreshadowed likely attacks that Bloomberg would be making against Sanders, talking about “the loony side of Bernie.” Sanders has a lot of weird writings over the years and O’Brien brought up some of the stranger things.

From Daily Caller:
“Bernie has loopy stuff in his background, saying women get cancer from having too many orgasms or toddlers should run around naked and touch each other’s genitals to insulate themselves from porn?”O’Brien also said Sanders wrote about “women’s rape fantasies, that hasn’t been surfaced.”
“What?!” replied Camerota, appearing shocked at the comments.
Sanders’ 1970s essay spoke about the pornography business and how the economy “makes its money by playing on people’s sexual frustrations.”
“Now, if children go around naked, they are liable to see each others sexual organs, and maybe even touch them,” Sanders wrote in the essay. “Terrible thing! If we [raise] children up like this it will probably ruin the whole pornography business, not to mention the large segment of the general economy which makes its money by playing on people’s sexual frustrations.”
He left out that Bernie also spoke about the practice of women eating placenta.
The problem of course is that while O’Brien is referencing actual writings of Sanders, it doesn’t make Mike Bloomberg anymore appealing to voters. He still a shrill unlikeable authoritarian. He and the others are still splitting the “anti-Bernie” vote and trying to think of how to unseat him.
But now that Bloomberg pulled that card out and likely plans to drop that on Bernie tonight in the debate, it should be interesting to see what fireworks result.
