I still remember seeing this guy's ad for Ibanez guitars in Guitar Player magazine, and being very intrigued by it. I was on a cd buying spree at the time, and was learning to play the guitar, as well. I called around to a bunch of music stores in the Metroplex, and found just one store that had this new release cd. As a consequence of my obsession with buying all the great Rock and Jazz Fusion cds that I could get my hands on, I suppose that, just by dumb luck, I happened to be one of the very first handful of people to hear Satch's music (at least in Dallas). Anyways, I put the cd in my trusty Sony cd player, and this was the first thing that I heard. I then had tremendous difficulty picking my jaw up off of the floor. I also felt an overwhelmingly strong urge to toss my guitar into a wood chipper.

I saw Jeff Beck live (with Jennifer Batten) about 10 years ago at the Majestic Theater. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

In case y'all don't know, the lead singer of the Butthole Surfer's dad is:

Lastly, enjoyed the shakin' in the Ying Yang vid. We need more of that.
