Traveling and hobbying safely

So as I travel for work semi-often, I look for ways to safely hobby in unknown cities. As Eccie doesn't have a great presence everywhere I go, are there any recommendation for other sites to rely on?

It might be easiest to ask again here, when you know what city you'll be in. Just like eccie works in texas, many areas have simliar boards they use.
