on a serious note, relations will probably normalize within the next 5 years or so. IMO should have normalized a long time ago.
the missile crises was over 50 years ago and Russia backed down.

cuba is and has been no more of a threat to us since than any number of third world dictatorships. We have normalized with much worse threats much faster.

I do grant the anti-cuba forces that cuba is indeed closer to us than most communist countries that could be considered a threat. However the world is different place than it was in the 60s when the missile crisis happened.

I doubt that anyone under 40 has any real idea why why our relationship with cuba is as it is.

Cuba had been wall-to-wall beach resorts and mojitos and mamacitas. Maybe she can regain her glory days now.

I hope Fidel is roasting on the same pitchfork as Che "t-shirt" Guevara.
