Good places to stay during my visit

Hey everyone. I would love a recommendation on safe, nice and convenient areas to stay while I'm visiting Houston next week.

Galleria Area (Marriott, ALoft, Derrick, Hilton, Intercontinental, etc) or Crown Plaza on 59 and Kirby

The Omni in West Houston ... Everytime I go there business is great. I was there about 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful. But if this is out of your price range, I would say anywhere in the Energy Corridor of Houston [on I-10, between the beltway & highway 6] would work great for you and you are sure to stay busy.
