Kansas City Hotspots!

Hi everybody!

I am on my way to Kansas City, MO. I have heard a lot of good things about the city! Apparently it is pretty contemporary and has lots of things to do.

I would like to know from the locals what are the best restaurants and must see attractions.

I am a shopper so I want to know which stores have the best cheap...sorry "vintage" clothes

For my own selfish reasons, I would like a strong emphasis on the Country Club Plaza and Downtown areas.

Thanks!
Plaza Dining:
-If you like spicy Mexican: Zocalo
-If you like Sushi / Night Life: Kona Grill
-If you like Steak: Capital Grille (my personal fav of the two)
-If you like Steak: Plaza III
-If you like Seafood: McCormick & Schmicks (particularly raw Oysters)
-If you like Brazilian Steak House: Fogo de Chao
-If you like healthy/low calorie: Seasons 52
-If you like BBQ: Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ
-If you like Dim Sum: Bo Ling's

Plaza Night Life:
-O'Dowds (will usually have live music at night - Happy Hour and Evening)
-Tomfooleries (Happy Hour and Evening)
-Kona Grill (Happy Hour and Evening- pretty popular)
-Chuy's Mexican (possibly if you like tequila)
-Capital Grille (Happy Hour)
-Brio (Happy Hour)

Fogo De Chao is absolutely brilliant - definitely go when you have ravenous appetite!

I'm also a fan of Blue Koi by the hospital. They do the BEST dumplings and potstickers in the city. Their noodle dishes are also up there with the most delicious I've had.

Jazz, a creole Louisiana themed restaurant is right next door which also has some great food.

There is also some really cool small shops around the area that Blue Koi is in too if browsing in cozy mom'n'pop stores for unique things is your style. Walking that area, eating some great good and discovering great finds in the shops is a great way to spend an afternoon.
I see we are expanding our search for her lol. Sweet!

If you end up going to Jazz... Get the Crab Cakes a La Mer. They are to die for!! And drink a Bermuda Triangle.

If we are talking about 39th & Bell / Roanoke area...
-Room 39
-Jazz (Crab Cakes a La Mer)
-D'Bronx Pizza (They make a killer Reuben or an Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich)
*There is a used bookstore right across the street if you are into reading.

If we are talking about Westport Road...
-Westport Cafe and Bar (French--How could you not love it lol)
-Blue Stem (Course Meals but if you eat in the bar it's not-- I tend to enjoy that atmosphere more when going casual)
-Pot Pie (Anything will be Scrumptious)
-Ca Va (Champagne bar with light French foods)
-Harrys (Happy Hour and Nightlife but their food is pretty good too)
-Union (Nightlife--Fun in the summertime out on the back patio with the DJ)
-Foundry (Nightlife)

Ummm, is it obvious I go out a lot lol hee hee.

What's up guys you think she is to skinny, I like the girly frame she is working with.
There are some really great places to eat on the Plaza.
We have places to eat at all over this great town of ours, they are only a short drive in
any direction from the Plaza.
