reviews of reviews

(I did a search to see if this question had been asked before)

I've noticed this ever since ECCIE started up and before that with one predecessor, ASPD.

curiously why are reviews or at least comments about another hobbyist's review of a provider being offered? (besides those of occasional suspicious ones)

what's to gain from this?

I believe he's asking why, once the review is posted, that isn't the end of it? He might be, GASP, suggesting that it stand on its own merits and that members not be allowed to subsequently slam and damn either the OP or the escort. Of course, they won't be able to openly agree/disagree with the rating, applaud the writer's communication skills, ask questions for clarification, or further compliment the lady, either.
Nicol "speakith" the truth! GASP

look I know that a few individuals, for whatever reason, will post a phony review. but putting that aside, I constantly see individuals make comments about other hobbyist reviews(nevermind the escort). yet as she so eloquenty paraphrased my question: why isnt that the end of it?

Why should it be?

A review needs to be of use, sometimes not enough info is in the review. Sometimes if a review is good we may thank the guy for the info. I don't know what you're worried about you've written one review that's generated one comment.

Solar, the back and forth can occasionally be valuable. Useful information can be added, requests for more information can be made.

It also gives our more special members a chance to respond with witticisms like "heh", "she's fat" and pictures of superheroes.

So everyone wins.

He's trying to figure out how to write a Review that will generate MORE than one comment! Dude, make it a controversial threAD and your claim to fame will be legend.

I don't know, but I do know the comments are the reason I no longer refer guys to this site. If my clients wanted to be talked down to about how dumb they are and how they never do anything right, they could just sit down on the couch next to their wife.

I don't think comments on reviews are the same thing as "reviews of reviews". As trey said I can't imagine what your concern would be with the comments. If you don't like them don't read them. I don't agree with or like everything that is said as a comment but I can just ignore what I feel like and life goes on.
But many times I do learn useful things from the comments. There are plenty of sharp and experienced people around and it is very informative when people add additional information.

It's really not hard to write a decent review. There are even stickied threads on it. When someone new posts a review with no information and no ros, it's pretty obvious they didn't even attempt to do their homework and they should be slapped down for it.

Conversely, well written reviews are applauded and should be encouraged.

In short, allowing comments in the reviews allows for the community to in part self police the quality of reviews through public ridicule and praise.

I've heard a rumor that if you want comments about your post, include a list.
