Screening in NYC and Long Island NY

I wanted to see what the guys feel about screening in the area. It seems NYC would rather be screened on the phone at the last minute, more so than other places.

As opposed to filling out a website contact form and prebooking days earlier.

Do you agree or disagree NYC? Commits and input welcome feel free to reply below.

I guess the last minute phone works for many. Because I like to plan ahead I'll do a form or email, especially if I and the woman I wish to spend time with have posted on eccie. I'm glad to see you are back in Stamford. I am working to see if I can meet you.
I'm from NYC and I would like the option to call or email and get verified the same day or the day before rather than filling out at form on a website. BUT then again I have established track record as a hobbyist on another site so it would be easy for you to verify me through my reviews.

What irks me personally about phone calls is:

1) Phone call at 11:45 am asking "do you have availability this morning". What availability? Next 15 min of it?
2) Phone call asking with "Are u free?" No, I am not FREE. I am however possibly AVAILABLE
3) Phone calls starting with "where are you located?" It would be nice to hear "Hello, my name is XYZ" before getting down to biz
4) Phone calls starting with "how much for an hour?"

I probably could come up with more, but what all these callers have in common is that NONE of them took 2 minutes of time to actually READ the website.

So, if you had read the website, willing to be screened and want to call to see if personalities click prior to providing your screening info, you are very welcome to do so!

I'll ask are you around or available. I'll start with "Dear Lina, My name is SR only, and I would love to see if we might meet sometime. I read your bio and I am enthralled with you...." Or something to that effect.

Seriously. I remember years ago when I started corporate training program for big company, they had us go through Phone Training.

No, it was not customer rep job but we had to go through mock up phone conversations and learn how to interact with people on the phone.

I remember being utterly amused by the concept that adults have to be tought HOW to do that. These days? I am thinking too many had skipped that class

I agree that it's all in the initial approach when being contacted. A simple "Hi, my name is Charles and I wanted to inquire about meeting you" goes a long way, in my book. We are sifting and sorting through many inquires in order to connect with the right people for us; I need the conversation to get off on the right foot or I lose interest.

NYers are notorious for last minute plans, that's just how they live. When there is so much activity and stimulation going on, it's hard to think about what you want to do three days from now. Immediate gratification is the name of the game. Put on your make up and be ready!

Another issue is where you are located. Huge difference between Uptown and Downtown! I find that Chelsea is a good compromise although there are not many hotels there.

Ah, the NYC. Gotta love it.
Thanks Clair, that clears a lot up from my last visit to NYC!
