Is this week any different than other weeks? I will be back in Vegas Friday. Does it have anything to do with that adult show? I saw it advertised on some girls website.

There will be about 200K people in town for SEMA. Majority of them being men, away from home, in Vegas.......
Adult Entertainment Expo is not until Jan 18-21. Thats only about 30K people

There's actually 3 large trade shows revolting around the auto market in Vegas.
In addition, you have Adultcon: http://www.adultcon.com/main_vegas.htm
SEMA and the related shows tends to draw over 100,000 attendees every year so room occupancy is higher than normal.
