Does anyone remember "The Circuit"? It was a loose confederation of madams in cities around the country. Girls would fly in, stay in a working apartment provided by the madam, who would handle bookings, and then, after a week or so, fly out, either to the next city or back home.
It was a great way for girls to make money without risking being found out in their hometowns, and clients were provided with a veritable Flavor of the Week. Rumor also had it that some women who'd been seen in the middle of a prominent national men's magazine traveled the Circuit.
Here's a story on the Chicago madam: http://newcity.com/2012/09/13/miss-r...d-coast-madam/
I recall there being talk of a Circuit stop in Houston at one time, and I also recall, long ago, reading ads in the Dallas Observer advertising a new girl each week and being fascinated at the concept of the itinerant, high-dollar prostitute.
