GOD DAMN POPUPS!!

This AM every time I enter a different forum on my iPad I have to deal with a damn popup. I support this site as a paying member and do not need the continual harassment of this additional advertising.

Yeah happening on my Windows 7 PC lately too.

Doesn't seem to happen on my ipad if I use the mobile version of the site.

And it doesn't happen every time I visit on the PC. I wonder if it's something one of the ads put on my PC rather than the site itself?
Despite seeing multiple different threads about popups, I have never had a problem on my MSDOS 6.0 PC. What gives with you guys?

I think it must be something in your PC. I have never tried ECCIE on IPAd, and will not since it is the SO's primary internet surfboard, but I see a lot of extra ads on there.
I get popups all the time on my iPad so I feel your pain.
Although, it doesn't seem to be as bad for me today. Yesterday was loaded with 'em.

I reported the OP post to the mods to see if we can get a staff reply as to why eccie is allowing these annoying pop-ups on their site.

It's one thing to have banner ads and all that, but the pop-ups are like something a shady porn site would force on people.
I get them intermittently on my iPad. I've gotten them a couple of times on my Mac, chrome I think. WTF?

I down loaded the latest spy bot updates. Scanned and then immunized. No more pop ups.

You must run the software in admin mode. So in windows - right click on icon and choose "Run as Administrator"

Run scan and then run immunize after scan. If it does not seem to immunize - you are not running the software in admin mode.

If they take away link - google spybot and look for safer networking dot org site. There are a lot of copy cat sites out there for this software.

The site will direct you to mirror sites to download. Be sure to click on the download spybot button and not some other button that offers to scan your pc!!!!!

Its free and can be download from here (not sure I can do this):

I'm still getting pop ups in Chrome but not on firefox or ms explorer after running spybot. Not sure spybot immunizes chrome.

Firefox will not load the page correctly. It shoves all the info to the bottom of the page, or blocks it out entirely. I don't know what the change was last month but I don't like it.

I'm not enough of a techie to fix much, but I've followed every set of instructions I can find to block pop-ups in Firefox, and they still pop up all the damned time on this site, but not on any other site I visit. And it's always an Eccie sponsor that pops up -- anything suspicious about THAT????

More than just a little frustrating.

I've been getting them often too. I ran Spybot but no help and the popups are sponsors here so I think it's built into the site or certain ads.
im on a MAC and keep getting them everytime i try to go to my inbox. boooooo
