Nothing is free, someone has to pay.
Kids get their education paid for all the time by scholarships, many of which are privately funded. If a kid wants a college education he can work for it. Either get a job and pay your way through school, Excel as an athlete or excel academically. That's how you earn your education, not off the backs of others.

Giving a free education to anyone who says they want it devalues the education of the ones who worked for it.

My doctor, for example, makes far more than I do. There is significant income inequality between us. Our lives have had an inequality of outcome, but, our lives also have had an in equality of effort. While my doctor went to college and then devoted his young adulthood to medical school and residency, I got a job in a restaurant. He made a choice, I made a choice, and our choices led us to different outcomes. His outcome pays a lot better than mine. Does that mean he cheated and Barack Obama needs to take away his wealth? No, it means we are both free men in a free society where free choices lead to different outcomes.

No president can tell a college how much to charge but a president could freeze student loan interest (since Obama took them off the hands of private lenders) at maybe 2%. That he could do by executive order and actually accomplish something inside of just having something to play politics with. Another thing, he could by executive order increase the payoff period to 20 years instead of 10. I know a young woman who is $300,000 in debt getting her PhD (plus two BAs, and two ASs.) Can you imagine trying to pay off $30,000 a year in debt when you're just starting out?
