Off The Pole, Take Down The Ads, Put Away The Red Lipstick And Then.....

Anybody else ever wonder what escorts and strippers do or plan to do once they decide to give this industry up? Or maybe there is no plan. What about money?? What about a career? Why do we come back? And, why do escorts keep their p411 and Eccie pages active if they've only just retired?? What is the next step for a retired hooker??

These are just a few questions that run through my mind as I slowly make my exit from this hobby (as I have been trying to do for the last few years.) I know I have taken breaks from this lovely world I find myself so engulfed in and am also guilty of 'retiring..' Yet, here I still am. LOL! And we roll our eyes at others' retirement threads, but I 'get' it and start thinking of my future. I wish I had been more focused when I first began... but coming from absolutely nothing turned to having things I never even dreamed of seemed so Hollywoodish to me that I didn't think about anything else. Of course, NOW that I'm older (just a lil bit, sheesh) and have slowed down hobbying (quite a bit, no shit!) I decide to think things through!

Or, maybe some of us will never actually retire because this is just too easy of a fall back plan...... And, I hate when my thoughts fight in my damn head!! I can't think clearly (or, perhaps I'm over-thinking) and create threads such as this.

So, I wonder what it is that will finally make a girl wanna get off the pole, take down her ads and put away the red lipstick.

.....Just a few thoughts of a Midwest Hooker (One who's thinking of retiring?? COLD turkey this time? Mmmm Maybe....Or Not)
I love this thread! I hope to see some responses. This job is almost too easy to fall back on, which makes it hard to retire! lol
I'll wade into these waters...over the years I have known a few ladies that decided to "retire". More accurately most I have known have more like "scaled back operations", stopped running ads, stopped marketing themselves and basically just see their ATF type clients. I expect its really the most generous clients or the guys that were special to them in some way that get the new number.

A retiring provider, that was a favorite of mine, told me that she was telling her regulars that she was ending it and that some were completely supportive and others were awful. She told me that that's the kind of thing to tell a guy after the appointment not at the beginning.

I think that there is something romantic about the notion of leaving it all behind and starting a new life without any of the encumbrance of the past, but then there's the money and the schedule.

Everyone moves on at one time. I would think that moving from what you do now, the biggest change is giving up all your flexibility. Having to move to a 8-5 job vs. being able to kind of set your own hours.

I retired from the military, my biggest challenge was having to figure out what to wear every day.
Lol! Yea, I hear ya on the military thing! My hardest habit to break was having my medicine cabinet so organized and everything facing front. I try to turn things backwards and sideways and shit. Lol

I've seen it go both ways. I think a lot of it depends on the ratio of sex-industry income to real world income.
If your hobby/peeler earnings are disposable income and go toward enhancing your lifestyle, it's a hell of a lot easier to walk away than if you're paying basic bills with it and have to put the red light on to keep the power on... so you can put the red light back on. Vicious circle.
I had a girl a while back explain to me why she couldn't pay her cell-phone bill... standing in front of me in Manolo red-bottoms. LOL. (Them are $500+ kicks for you guys who only know plastic stripper-heels.)
If you have your shit together in general, you'll be fine.

But using your (considerable) assets for financial gain?

Getting paid for sex?

I know it's easy to say, but it's what I'd be doing if I looked like you do.

...I think we're called upon to be happy first and on purpose. Circumstances (and the opinions of others) don't matter.

All the best.

lol Holly

I dont consider this "job" a "job"...I consider it an accomplishment! lol
{I am proud of what I do/who I do/and how i do it} lol
I was scanning seeing that Wichita has there on section now and was curious when I saw Gemma's post.
I have been in the business for years(don't want to say and scare anyone away) and I am still young. Well sort of. About to celebrate my 28th BDay Nov 8th. I have decided that on Nov 8th 2016 to hang up my heels and call it. I am going to have the hardest time I know. I hate to say it,but the hobby is my drug and I love every minute of it. Yeah it has its days, but what in life doesn't. lol I have only had a 4 month break from the hobby to decide if it was what I really wanted anymore or if I just needed to refresh myself and get back full force. And I did and haven't slowed down!! lol lol
The good thing though when I did take my break was I finished my degree and fell into a really great job. Just part time right now,but I can see myself going to work everyday and being very happy. So now my plans are to continue my travels and playing and then about 6 months before I retire start going back to school to finish my BSN. With school being hectic and needing to study I assume that will be my way to break away slowly from the hobby. Then when I get my degree and get hired on full time I will completely say Good Bye to you all. I will be sad and it will be very hard to go,but I don't want to do this forever.
I mean don't get me wrong this has been a life experience and has made me one hell of a woman!! My life has been so beautiful and I owe soo much of it to the hobby experience.
So Gemma,my 2 cents , if you don't sit down and make a plan for your future you won't ever leave the hobby. And again you may not be ready you just might think you are. lol It is like Hollywood all the glitz and glamour and we get sucked into it!! lol So have fun and see what your cards hold for you.
