What's new in the KC hobby scene

I was a victim of the poor economy and had to take about a year off from the hobby. I didn't want to tease myself by reading the site, so I am almost a newbie again! Anything important to know from the last year?

I am freshly back myself and a few changes but not much....Glad to see all the familiar names. I was very nervous and it was very comforting. There are a lot of great people here.
