There's a telephone scam which currently is infesting this area.
Its a recorded message delivered by a female if you are a male, and the opposite if picked up by a woman.
The tape is an attention getter in that the caller first states you are the subject of an IRS investigation for fraud.
Then, the caller instructs for you to immediately call back to an Area Code (831) number (Virginia).
If you have Caller ID you'll see the phone call is coming from a mobile phone.
Its my understanding the callers ask for items you shouldn't have to give. On top of that, inquiries from the IRS are delivered by registered mail.
My home phone has received 3 calls about this. My mobile phone hasn't rung with this scam.
A word to the wise is sufficient.
