Is there a process by which...

Is there a process or a generally accepted practice by which mods get nominated or chosen? I am thinking about the Austin forum in particular.

no, not me. i have couple people i would like to nominate, but i don't know if it makes any difference what i think, or what the Austin community thinks.

I would assume the first criteria would be they would have to VOLUNTEER..then the Owners would either approve or disapprove..But i dunno..

That is pretty much the criteria. A member expresses an interest and then the Owners go through a "vetting" process. They do ask the opinion of the other local Mods as everyone has to work together. Sometimes the choices are obvious and sometimes the choices that members disagree with the most turn out to be great Mods.

Just FYI, several people have expressed an interest and the Owners have been made aware. I am sure that the vetting process is taking place as we write these words.

Seems to me that when they were looking for a new MOD in HTown, St. Chris put up a poll, so why not here?
