New on here and I have a question

How many guys on here give their email address out to other guys?? Is it common courtesy to do that or am I wrong for thinking its odd that another guy wants my email addy?
If the guy is reading this no worries I am just cautious.

Sometimes the best way to communicate with another guy (that you know and trust) is by email, my 2 cents

New here, but not the hobby! Have been on other forums, Glad that a Friend told me about this one.

Well . . . I'm new to this forum and to this hobby, but I belong to other forums where this is pretty common. It just provides an opportunity to talk and discuss things with other folks "off-line", so to speak. So, while I can't speak with any authority about this forum (hell, it's my 1st post), it doesn't strike me as unusual. And if you're not comfortable, you don't have to.

I set up "disposable" e-mail addresses on places like yahoo or hotmail for this sort of thing.

Cheers . . .

It all depends on what you are comfortable with. USE a hobby throw away email that no one could trace back to you.

NF,

Not odd at all. There have been several guys who I talked with on PM and then transitioned to email. I don't see the harm since it is my Hobby email. It cuts out a step and makes it easier, especially if I am on my handheld.

I have never done it and would never do it. It's giving away a piece of yourself, including your IP. There's no reason; private messages can be exchanged right here, if necessary, and even that is rarely necessary.
