Andy Griffith and Ron Howard are both still alive. I'm pretty sure that Jim Nabors is alive and Barney's girlfriend Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn of Kansas City) is alive. There are some others llike Elinor Donohue who had a short stint that are still alive. Charlene Darling (Maggie Petersen) was younger and she is still alive. There are probably still others who had short term roles like Ron's brother Clint.
