Best way to get it done is to send a PM to the moderators. They will need a reason for your request - it can be as simple as "leaving the hobby." If it is a security reason, be sure to let them know.

JaG is right. I tried to have it done without the reason and it wouldn't go thru.

One of the Mods sent you a PM asking for a reason for closing the account.
I handle the requests for account closures, it’s no problem to do so but will need to document the reason before I can process your request. We don't delete accounts, but we can close it.
