This is the email I received two days ago.

Sirs,

You have set up a website which includes use of the Green Dot and/or trademark without prior authorization. The specific webpage referenced is: http://zarahadams.com/donation/.

All references to trademarked Green Dot and/or must be immediately removed from the website as you are not authorized to use our trademark and are in violation of law. Further legal action may be taken if any and all references to Green Dot and/or are not removed within 10 days from the date of this notification.

Please do not respond directly to this email, as the originating email account is not monitored. All inquiries should be directed to unauthorized@.com.

Sincerely,

Green Dot Corporation

Green Dot Case #: 61646331

Mind you I caught it today only because I was checking my host email/not my work email. This email came from unauthorized@.com so I know it's not some loser messing with me lol. Has any of you wonderful ladies received anything like this? My website gets 1200 hits a week and I'm thinking maybe they were getting a lot of traffic from my site? Thoughts? I'm a little lost here.

xoxo,
Zarah
Good to know....
They just are trying to stem the affiliation of their brand to illegal services that prefer pre-paid. I think the high volume may have made them notice it initallly, but like paypal they don't want to be connected to anything illegal since the government has been on 's ass already.
Greenddot has "frowned' upon us for some time now.

Thank god for brains. I enabled whois privacy on my website so I'm sure that information wouldn't be out there whew! You're right.
Just took it off of my site.

I would be much more concerned when they shut your cards off to any transactions. Sounds like right now they are just telling you to stop using their name. Wonder if all the ebay sellers are getting the same notification?
IDK, but I would be surprised if it's the volume of hits.

They probably have a bot searching the web for all listings, analyzing them, and sending out the appropriate emails. They are on solid ground. It is their trademark to control. And, like it or not, it has become a favorite method of payment in the demimonde, and they may be trying to separate themselves from that "reputation."

Zarah,

Did you have their website linked to your site or was it just the words "Green Dot"?

If you linked their website to yours, they probably were aware of the hits coming from your site, and clients going to check their website out from theirs or it's possible that they have some robot that does a www search on 'green dot escort' and sees all sorts of escorts who reference their company. You can see this too if you do the search. Also, you have your email address listed, which made it easy for them (the robot possibly) to contact you.

I don't know anything about green dot, but I wish there was a way to use PayPal. It's easy to email someone funds from my iPad, while they watch to verify. Most people can check email on there phone to also verify transfer. I'm always running low on cash for some reason and ATMs are limited to $300/day. There may be some negatives that I'm not thinking of here, but just throwing it out there.

Zarah, yep, that's probably how they found you.. (see my edit above in my first post as to why). But if you do the google search, you can see a lot of sites that use the words "Green Dot" and "". They may also do a copyright search of verbatim taken from their site.

Tony - Paypal is way too easy for anyone to charge back. Paypal doesn't even ask questions before authorizing the return of funds to the credit card holder. You could have your time with your companion, and then the next day call in that transaction and charge it back saying it wasn't you that charged that. Then paypal will take the money from the companion's account or freeze her account until she pays them back. Cash or green dots are probably the best way to go, I think. A lot of people use Western Union, but then that requires you to have your client's information, and him to have yours.

Zarah - just put on your website for them to contact you with how to pay their deposit or donations.

Or... put something like this: Accepting the following donation methods: cash or

I don't think there's much they can do about that. You haven't linked to them or said their name and that isn't their logo.
