True Story

I recently had to address a large group of people at conference meeting. I informed them of an upcoming event and said "Please bring your husband/wife or your girlfriend/boyfriend but probably not both at the same time. The meeting broke at this time and a lady in the audience quickly made her way to the podium where I was. She quickly berated me informing me that she did not appreciate my comment and did not think that I was a damn bit funny. I was speechless.

Any joke will offend someone.

OR

Some people will find offense where none is offered.

OR

Some people have no sense of humor.

She probably recently caught her husband with his pole in someone else's hole.
